2010 Australia/NZ Summer Race Camp

Image

Athletes attending our Australian training camp will have access to superb Southern Hemisphere training facilities perfect for developing and refining skill for the upcoming winter

Ideal preparation for the Northern Winter

No Matter if you are a FIS or college racer now is the opportunity for you to experience amazing training and competitive racing in the Southern Hemisphere. Enjoy summer race training at Falls Creek Ski Resort one of Australia’s premier alpine training facilities.

At Falls Creek athletes can look forward to consistent pitches, winter snow conditions and exclusive training lanes ideal for summer skill development.

Enjoy 8 FIS starts with low penalties

Take advantage of the opportunity to test your skills by racing in as many as 8 FIS races with the potential to lower your points prior to the up coming winter.

Like many first year FIS athletes before you athletes born 1994 can take advantage of the summer FIS series in order to dramatically improve starting position for the start of their respective domestic season.

Thanks to amazing race hills, small fields, and penalties as low as 15 to 25 points on both the men's and women's side FIS races over the past number of years have been fantastic.

In 2010, we are offering an optional training/race extention in New Zealand to allow racers to maximise their summer training as well as gain more starts with quality fields.

This is a full service camp.

Now accepting Expressions of Interest for the 2010 Season.

2010 Schedule

In 2010, racers will be able to enjoy a full five week program that covers all the possible FIS race starts.

We expect to run the program between the following dates. July 18th to August 21st 2010. This will be followed by an optional extention to ski the New zealand races.

Open To

* FIS
* College Racers

Professional Programs

International racer has been operating junior and FIS level alpine camps for many years. Our camps run in Australia, Canada and Europe. Athletes in our programs have made excellent personal improvements.

Our Australia camp is designed for the ski racer who wants to keep training momentum during summer and dedicate off season snow time to improve their technique, fitness, skills and tactics.

Scheduled weekly training will involve GS and Slalom training followed by afternoon dry land training and video to support their on snow program.

We manage all the logistics to enable our athletes to maximize their training and access all regional FIS level races.

Training Focus

The focus of the Australian camps is on the development, patterning, and mastering of the technical skills.

Once mastered our goal is to then sequence technical skills from outside the course along with tactical sequencing to within markers, stubbies, gate corridors and finally a rhythmical sets.

Athletes on the Australian camp will have the opportunity to sequence into full length courses with rhythm changes

FIS Racing

In 2009, 12 different nations were represented at the Australian FIS Nationals and Continental Cup Series, including racers who compete at World Cup and World Champs levels.

Qualified FIS athletes can access up to 8 starts across 4 SL and 4 GS, in both National FIS Races and Continental Cup Series.

1st year FIS athletes (born 1994) are eligible to race in the Australian National Championship FIS series 2 GS – 2 SL Aug 10 -13 2009.

"International Racer" staff will request proof of these items prior to training. Training may be denied if sufficient insurance has not been purchased. Please ask your own national ski racing body what insurance cover packages they recommend for international/domestic racing/training

Enrolment Policies

The summer camp has a limited number of openings and fill up quickly, so first come, first served. We suggest you contact us ASAP to nominate your interest. We have developed over time the following necessary policies for camp enrolment.

[1] Mandatory. A signed enrolment form and a deposit of $1000.00 CAD is required to request a place in our camps. We cannot register your place until these are received.

[2] The balance of the camp payment must be paid at a minimum 30 days prior to camp starting to secure your place.

[3] First paid first secured, however, full 6 week participants get place preference over shorter term athletes.

[4] If the camp has already filled you may request entry onto the programs waiting list. A place will come available if an athlete cancels their place or we get sufficient numbers to create a new group.

[5] International Racer, reserves the right to cancel a training camp based on insufficient numbers for participation. Booked participants will be notified of cancellation 30 days prior to the start of the affected block. International Racer, reserves the right to vary group numbers when necessary, though maintains a policy to keep numbers at (LE 8:1) in most conditions.

[6] Airport pickup and delivery are set days only, if is not possible for you to get a flight arriving in the morning on set days, you should arrive on the day before. We are not always able to accommodate non-standard pickups, athletes with this dilemma may be directed to a bus service. Non-standard pickup/delivery requests will be costed and scheduled separate to the advertised camp fee.

* Cancellations are subject to Cancellation fees
